This 9 days South African safari experience is a must for the first time travellers. Our itinerary includes all the top highlights of South Africa. Our journey begins in bustling City of Cape Town. We go to the top of the Table Mountain, travel to Cape of Good Hope and visit Cape Point. Visit Victoria and Alfred Waterfront which is the shopping and leisure Mecca and discover why it attracts more visitors than any other destination in South Africa. Spend a day visiting world class wine farms and wineries, tasting award winning wine and savouring the natural beauty of one of South Africa’s most popular tourism destinations. The Big Five jewel in South Africa’s crown. The Kruger National Park is South Africa’s premier Big Five national park and is exceptionally well set up for tourists. On the last leg of our journey we visit Johannesburg and learn about the history and culture of South Africa.
Day 1 – Arrival To Cape Town
Arrival to Cape Town. A representative will meet you after passport control and luggage collection. Transfer and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 – Cape Town
Half Day Cape Town City Tour with Table Mountain (private guided tour). Table Mountain (weather permitting) or Signal Hill, a scenic coastal drive through Clifton & Sea Point, Green Market Square, a walk through the Company Gardens, a scenic drive passing the Houses of Parliament, City Hall, Castle & Slave Lodge, The Bo-Kaap, traditional Malay Quarter, The firing of the Noon gun – except Sun & public holidays, Diamond history, master craftsman, sparkling gems. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 – Cape Town
Full day Cape Peninsula Tour (private guided tour). We travel through the picturesque harbour Hout Bay along the somewhat windy yet beautiful mountainous road towards the landmark – The Cape of Good Hope – the most southwest point of the continent, where the Indian Ocean meets The Atlantic. The state of the art funicular takes us up to the highest observation point. Following a generous seafood extravaganza lunch, we proceed to Boulders beach, home to thousands of little penguins. Tour also includes a cruise around the Seal Island. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 – Cape Town
Half day Cape Winelands Tour (private guided tour). A marvellous way to explore the Cape Winelands, this trip hits the highlights of this spectacular region. Travelling through verdant valleys and around craggy peaks, the landscape is as much a star as the fine wines and delicious foods that you’ll savour. We will travel to Stellenbosch, the historic heart of the country’s wine region with an elegant mix of 18-century Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings. After a brief tour we will enjoy a wine tasting at a fine wine estate. We move on to a second wine tasting (time permitting) before returning to Cape Town. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 – Kruger National Park
Transfer to Cape Town airport, flight to Nelspruit. On arrival meet and greet by company representative and transfer to Kruger National Park (1 hour drive). Lunch on arrival at the lodge, afternoon relaxation. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 – Kruger National Park, Panorama Route
Panorama Route half day tour (private guided tour). Spend a full day marveling at Mpumalanga’s most spectacular scenery. Including lunch. Visit the 3rd largest canyon in the world, fondly known to us as the panorama route. Sites that will be visited en- route, 3 Rondawels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, Gods Window, a light lunch in Graskop, in the afternoon visiting the sleepy old gold mining town of Pilgrims Rest returning to your hotel late afternoon. Relax in air-conditioned comfort with an experienced guide. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel
Day 7 – Johannesburg
Transfer from the lodge to Nelspruit airport, flight to Johannesburg. On arrival meet and greet at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel
Day 8 – Johannesburg
Full day Gold Reef City and Johannesburg City Tour. We start with interactive tour of 1890’s Theme Park’s exciting historical and gold mining attractions. Includes introductory film, underground mine tour, visit 3 period houses, and see bar of gold being poured.
*Children less than 5 years not allowed on underground mine tour. After Gold reef city we drive to downtown Johannesburg passing Hill brow and the landmark Post Office tower en route; the ‘Top of Africa’ at the Carlton Centre; the Brixton Tower; the affluent suburb of Houghton, the Supreme Court, the Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown and Constitution Hill – home of South Africa’s new Constitutional Court and site of Johannesburg’s Old Fort Prison. Return via the Botanical Gardens at Emmerentia (time permitting).
We travel to the Carnivore Restaurant, Renowned for its positioning statement ‘Africa’s Greatest Dining Experience’ it’s certainly one you won’t forget in a hurry. Entering Carnivore is like stepping into an exciting African kingdom with bold tribal artwork, traditional music and the restaurant’s centerpiece, an enormous circular fire area where spits of meats on long Masai swords are charcoal grilled to perfection. Day 9 – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from hotel to OR Tambo International airport and today we say goodbye to South Africa and fly back home.
