Day 1 Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Day 2 Tarangire Region – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu
After breakfast, you will leave the region around Tarangire National Park and travel via the multi-cultural town of Mto wa Mbu to Lake Manyara National Park. You will see scores of monkeys and baboons in the forests, masses of pink flamingos and other water birds around the lake and observe lazy lions lounging in the acacia trees. In the afternoon, after exploring the park, you will drive to Karatu to your overnight accommodation that borders the forest of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will overnight at the Lodge or similar. Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner
Day 3 Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu
After an early breakfast at the lodge, the 4x4 safari vehicle will take you down the steep trail into the crater. This massive collapsed volcano is 18km in diameter with walls as high as 600 m. More than 25 000 large mammals live here including over 60 lions, elephants and thousands of wildebeests, zebras, eland and Grant's and Thomson's gazelles. In the forests of the crater rim leopards can be found. Rare animals include the black rhino and wild dogs. In only a few hours, you have the chance of spotting the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinos and leopard. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, you will leave Ngorongoro in the afternoon and head back to the Lodge or similar for the night. Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner
Day 4 Karatu - Arusha
After a leisurely breakfast, you will start your journey back to Arusha. Near Lake Manyara, you will start the descent from the highlands into the Rift Valley below and have a chance to admire the beautiful views over the plains. You should reach Arusha by early afternoon. Depending on you travel plans you will be taken to a hotel or directly to the airport – Kilimanjaro or Arusha.
