Uganda can also be defined as the adventure epicenter of Africa! This itinerary offers these adventures and so much more!

DAY 2: WHITEWATER RAFTING THE NILE
After an early morning breakfast you will be driven to Jinja for a two-day whitewater rafting trip on the Nile! Jinja is often quoted to be the "adventure capital of East Africa," and whitewater enthusiasts have been rafting here for over 10 years. The Nile is the classic pool-drop river with deep, calm pools interspersed between powerful and exciting rapids and multitudes of different channels. Day 1 includes 14 rapids, ranging from Grade 3 to 5, four of which are Grade Five. While on the river, expect to see many different birds and swim in the calm stretches of the river. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 3: WHITEWATER RAFTING
Continue with the second day of your rafting adventure. Today's rafting will be milder, giving you time to enjoy swimming pools, islands full of birds, and fisherman in dugouts. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 4: RWENZORI MOUNTAINS
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Rwenzori Mountains (approximately 7 hours). Also known as the Mountain of the Moons, the Rwenzoris are the highest mountain range in Africa. Hiking in the Rwenzoris is considered harder than Mt. Kilimanjaro or Mt. Kenya because the mountain range is still a wild frontier and lacks the heavy foot traffic and wide trails of the other two mountains. The Rwenzori are known for their vegetation, ranging from tropical rainforest through alpine meadows to snow; and for their animal population, including forest elephants, several primate species, and many endemic birds. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 5: SAMALIRA CAMP
Today's hike starts at Trekkers Hostel in Kyanjiki, where you will meet your guides and have a trekking briefing, including detail on the day's activities and rules of the National Park. Birds and primates are plentiful as we climb; it is possible to see troupes of 15 to 20 black and white colobus monkeys or blue monkeys as they dash through the trees. It is also common to see red-tailed monkeys in this area, with its abundance of natural fruits. As we near the top we break out of the bamboo to fantastic views of the valleys and hills below looking across to Lake George and Queen Elisabeth National Park in the distance. The equator lies just north of Lake George. Dinner and Overnight at the camp: FB

DAY 6: KIHARO CAMP
After a hearty breakfast we commence walking. The views give us the impression that we could fly as we look across the many ridges and valleys far below. You can see Kilembe village deep in the valley and across Lake George. After lunch we climb steadily above the Nyamwamba River for though old giant heathers covered in old man's beard moss to Kiharo Camp. Kiharo Camp is directly at the base of some good granite rock climbs of 60 to 120 feet, with towering peaks above. Some may want to climb one of the short cliff faces near the camp to fill in the afternoon hours. Or sit, relax and take in the beautiful environment from the comfort of your camp. Dinner and Overnight at the camp: FB

DAY 7: KALALAMA CAMP
Today we climb up to the main ridge, then head south to come down from Mutinda to Kalalama Camp, where we prepare our evening meal while overlooking Kasese and Lake George from a different perspective. To the south are the rugged cliff faces of Rwatamaguta and Karasimbi rising far above us. Dinner and Overnight at the camp: FB

DAY 8: DESCEND RWENZORIS
We slowly descend down through the bamboo forests. As we reach the bottom of the ridge we cross a rather large fast flowing stream and onto the Musenge rock shelter. Here we have lunch and a short break before we walk the final few miles through thick mountain montage forest to the Rangers Post. After a short debriefing, we sign off and walk the final mile to our waiting vehicles and to our lodge in time for dinner. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Today we explore the Great African Rift Valley, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Mweya Lodge, situated on a peninsula overlooking Lake Edward and Kazinga Channel, offering beautiful views of the park with the Rwenzori Mountains in the background. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most popular and accessible savannah reserve, with one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world, including a total of 95 recorded mammal species and more than 610 species of birds. We'll begin our explorations with a chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge. In the afternoon we have a private launch trip of about two hours on the Kazinga Channel to view some of the largest concentration of hippo in the world (reported to be about 30,000) and other game with excellent birding. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 10: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Today we drive through the park to the Ishasha region. Game drive in search of tree climbing lion (75% success rate) and other game. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (a World Heritage Sight) passing through the scenic area known as The Switzerland of East Africa. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park has at least 90 mammal species, including 11 primates and is ranked as one of the best in Uganda for forest birding, with 23 highly localised Albertine Rift endemics. Bwindi is renowned for its mountain gorilla population, slightly more then half the world's mountain gorilla population is resident in Bwindi: an estimated 280 – 320 individuals living in 15 groups. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is an extremely special privilege and an encounter unparalleled in most likely the whole of Africa. The driving today is about 5 1/2 hours (not including game drives). Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 11: GORILLA TRACKING
After breakfast take a short drive to Park Headquarters and meet with excellent local guides and trackers who will give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla tracking. We then hike into the forest where the gorillas were seen the night before and track from that point. The trek can take from 1 to 6 hours and climb to altitudes in excess of 7,500 feet. The terrain is rough and at times muddy. Although the Hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. Picnic lunches are provided. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 12: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
Drive to Mbarara passing through the Switzerland of East Africa area and eventually into Ankole Cattle country around Mbarara. These cattle are incredible with horns larger than one can imagine. Continue to Lake Mburo National Park, game drive. The drive today is 6 to 7 hours. Lake Mburo National Park is a small park, excellent for birding, antelope and other grazers, one of the only places to easily see impala and Burchell's zebra in Uganda. Birders will enjoy the Park's 310 recorded water and dry land species. In this valley we can operate night drives and walks. It is an excellent place for walking and exploring a nearby Khopji to perhaps see Klipspringer. Game drive to the lodge. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge: FB

DAY 13: DEPATURE
This morning we have an early morning game drive or bush walk before heading back to Entebbe for your return flight

End of Safari...Karibu Tena (Welcome again)!!!
